Brecon Cathedral Memorial Slab

Dr Madeleine Gray reader in history at Cardiff University, is seeking information about a memorial slab in Brecon Cathedral. If you can help, she would be very glad to hear from you.
Contact her by e-mailing Mrs Rachel Duthie at rachel.duthie@lineone.net, who will pass on your details to Dr Gray.

Janet says:

Dr Gray is looking for information on Ann Bulcott/Boulcot/Bvlcott, whose intriguing 17th-century graveslab in Brecon Cathedral refers to a daughter, Anne Lewis, and one Lewis, an alderman of Brecon. It is one of several post-Reformation slabs in the Cathedral which feature prominent Roman Catholic and Jesuit symbols. The symbols and their survival reveal to us much about personal religious devotion in Brecknock in the decades following the Suppression of the Priory Church. If you have any information about the Bulcott family, .

Respond by e-mailing Mrs Rachel Duthie at rachel.duthie@lineone.net.
