Parish Pages

This section of our website will eventually provide details such as church and chapel records, photographs, histories, and maps of each of the parishes in Breconshire from a local perspective. As we are creating a separate webpage for each of the seventy or so parishes in the county, this is a major long-term project. Since February 2014, we have been adding snippets of information to each of the Breconshire parish pages, working in alphabetical order.

Note to non-members of the BLFHS

You have access to the four parishes shown CAPITALISED in the table below. Some of the links included in these parish pages require you to log in as a Society member. To join the Society and gain access to the entire website, including all the Breconshire parish pages, go to our Membership Page.

If you are already a member, log in to the Members' section of our website.

Note 1: Those who are unfamiliar with Breconshire may find it helpful to study our county map showing all the parishes in Breconshire, and to read a general overview of the parishes in the county.
Note 2: The 75 parishes listed in the table include only the 'ancient parishes' of Breconshire. The table does not include any of the newer parishes created in the 19th and early 20th centuries. If the place you are seeking is not included, study our Gazetteer page to identify the mother parish in which it was originally situated.
Note 3: See here for details of which parish church/chapel records have been and are being transcribed by our transcription team.
Note 4: This is very much a work in progress. The contents of the table of parishes and the individual parish pages are subject to revision.
