Janet says:
A few weeks ago my husband and I were on holiday in Abergavenny, and as I am looking into my family history we visited Talgarth and discovered the grave of my gt. gt. uncle Edward Bruntnell just off the path at the church. I was wondering whether any descendants of the Bruntnell family were still living in Talgarth or the surrounding area and thought that maybe someone in your group might know something about the family.
The names I've traced are:
Isaac Bruntnell who married Anne Owens in 1780
His son Edward Bruntnell who married Susannah Evans in 1820 (parents of my gt. gt.uncle Edward as mentioned above who was married to Joanna Davies).
The places that appear on various documents relating to where they came from are Clyro, Glasbury and Clodock.
I should be most grateful if it would be possible to give this a mention at your group.
My husband, my mother and I will be visiting the area again from 14th to 21st September, as my mother would like to see the places where some of our ancestors came from. We live in Dudley, West Midlands, and my great grandfather William Bruntnell came to Dudley from Talgarth. The family were blacksmiths.
I've bought a couple of books about Talgarth from the Information shop which are very interesting and also wondered if I could keep in touch with regards to any more historical information that is gathered about this beautiful area.
