Monthly Meetings 2023

Dear Friends

The Programme of meetings for 2024 is now being finalised.   We have a number of talks arranged for the spring and outings planned for the summer months.  Some of the outings will link to the talks so we hope you will be able to join us on both.

Do not forget that we maintain a list of Members' Interests for family history research.   If you have Breconshire connections in your family tree and would like to discover links to other members who are researching the same family please let us have the details.   We will list the information on the Members' Section of the website so, through the Society, you can make contact with each other.

Breconshire Local & Family History Society (BLFHS) was established in June 2011 to enhance, encourage and enable the study of local history and family history in the mid-Wales county of Breconshire.

We hold indoor talks at Kensington Church Hall, Watergate, Brecon on the second Tuesday of each month.  Full details will be advertised here and on posters around the town.  Non-members are welcome to our meetings.  Entrance:  free to members,  £1.00 non-members

Subscriptions for the Society are due on January 1st.  You will be sent a reminder by the Membership Secretary during January, this will include ways to pay your £8.00 subscription.

Our website has a wealth of information to help you in your Breconshire family history research as well as articles and talks about our local history.  We are a membership based group and some of our resources are only available to members, but it is easy and inexpensive to join, just take a look at our Membership page (link above).

We regularly add new information and resources to this website and we would welcome anyone who would like to get involved with activities such as Transcriptions, Monumental Recording or has an article to contribute to our newsletter.  Please get in touch, details on the Contact Us page.
